I am writing this post from our office. The geek squad just left. It was one guy, named Stanley. Guess his squad couldn't make it. I'm so very thrilled. I have been wanting a solid Internet connection and a big screen for entirely too long. This feels way decadent. Working from home will be a breeze now. I feel very fortunate.
Last weekend I finished Ruth Reichl's Tender at the Bone. To say that I loved it would be an understatement. It's so hard to come by books that I don't want to put down. So many books I read are so so and can easily be left on my nightstand for weeks. But not Ruth. A couple days ago I started reading Michael Ondaatje's Divisadero. Another love. I just reached the part that takes place in France, on a farm. So you can imagine my yearning to go pick it back up right now.
What if I had the audacity to say that this is the greatest song of all time?
p.s. i am currently learning about strategies for the verbal section of the GRE. is it ridiculous that my heart starting racing in excitement when i found out there is a section at the back of the book dedicated to the root of words?
