Lately I have been coming up with ideas for dinner, not following a recipe. And it's been so fun trying things out. The latest - white beans with red onion, garlic, roasted tomatoes, avocado & feta, on toasted french bread. I started cooking a lot in college. So I guess it has taken me about seven years to come up with some recipes of my own. Feels good.
One of my friends recently told me that he writes every Saturday morning. I think that sounds like the perfect time.
I have been looking through a box of old photos lately, almost daily. Today I found a letter from my mom, that she wrote when I was in high school. The second page was dedicated to sticking up for myself, her feelings on why it is important. I didn't do it much back then. Only in the past year or two have I started doing it more consistently. I have always wondered why I never really have. But now I know my mom tried to teach me, to remind me.
I am thinking of posting journal entries from my trip to Kauai last summer. In case I ever lose the journal, it might be nice to have those memories stored here. Would you guys mind?
If you need a good book to read, I got one for you. The Rules of Inheritance by Claire Bidwell Smith. Every single sentence is magnificent.
