Sweet pea

A very, very cute encounter happened the other nite. I was out for drinks with a friend and we were sitting outside. A band was setting up to play some Latin music. This old man, probably about 85 or 90, stopped by our table and asked 'Will you ladies be dancing tonight?' so we said 'Oh yea of course' and asked if he was going to. He then placed a small black leather bag on the table and unzipped it and replied 'What do you think?' I peeked in and he had brought dancing shoes!! It was the sweetest moment. What a cutie. Then on the way home, Bat for lashes was on World Cafe and I smiled all the way home. So it was a nice, nice night. Then I woke the next morning and found out that a poem I submitted a while back is going to be published!! Once I know more, I will be sure to post about it. Let's just say that I felt electric after hearing that. For years, I have had this line in my head 'To wish impossible things'. It's the title of a Cure song and it has always followed me around. This weekend I realized that some of my wishes, impossible wishes, are coming true. And it makes me hyperventilate with the sweetest excitement I have ever known.
