Maroon plant

I have been obsessed with reading lately. As I walked out of the library yesterday, holding my books, I thought about how luscious it is to hold a stack of books that were free and are mine for a few weeks. This crazy bush was outside of the library.

Isn't it weird and pretty?

I noticed two little tomatoes yesterday in our garden. I screamed, of course.

I saw a recipe on a French cooking show recently, very simple and a tad elegant. Here it is from my little memory.

Slice two tomatoes in half (from the middle, not top to bottom). Add a patch of butter to a skillet, let it melt than add the tomatoes, seed side down. Let sit in the heat and butter for 10 minutes, then turn over. Sprinkle on salt & pepper and any fresh herbs that you have (chopped). Pour some cream in to the skillet so that the tomatoes are surrounded. Keep on the heat for ten minutes more, then serve. Don't be afraid to serve the tomatoes with crêpes.

I wrote in my journal Friday afternoon, on the sofa in our office right by the window. I wrote about the seasons. It felt good to fill a whole page.

What are you reading this summer?

If there's butter involved it's gotta be French cooking, lol! I'm reading 'Everyday Blessing' by the Kabatt-Zinns, a Buddhist book on mindful parenting. What books have you checked out? Talk to you soon :)

Hey Sirena! The book you are reading sounds really interesting, can't wait to hear more about it! I am reading Committed by Elizabeth Gilbert and One thousand days in Venice by Marlenda de Blasi. Been a bit obsessed with memoirs taking place in Italy lately :)
