le bonheur

Taking Monday off of work was probably one of the best decisions I have made in a while. I woke up to freezing rain, which meant gloomy skies and tons of fog. Perfect for a morning spent at a coffee shop.

I filled two bags full of things to bring along.

Journals, magazines, newspaper.

Kindle, library books, laptop.

I caught up on blogs, wrote two pages in my journal (two pages!), wrote down a recipe for broccoli pesto & a recipe for avocado hummus. I then read the introduction to Stay Me, Oh Comfort Me by MFK Fisher and read this glorious line by her sister: 'Journals are fascinating in part because of what they do not say'. I really like this line. I think it struck me because recently I have been thinking that I should write in my journal more since I do not write a lot of personal stuff on this blog, or pretty much anywhere else. I was feeling like my journal could hold it all. I love how that line assumes the opposite. It felt so good to dedicate a morning to creative moments. I felt like I accomplished a lot in a small amount of time. I wish I had more of those mornings.

A little while back I sent Kate from For Me, For You our remix to listen to. I love her Monday Music editions and thought she might dig Toro Y Moi. I noticed today that she posted our song on Music Monday!! Pretty cool to notice in the morning, randomly.

this sounds like a perfect morning. i have been writing more personal things on my blog and therefore less in my journal. i need to write in my journals again. the most personal things just end up staying in my head.
