Here we are, in Austin. The move went about as smooth as you can get. We drove through Kansas & Oklahoma. We really loved the sunset in the hills of Oklahoma. It feels so wild, driving many hours to a new place, and now it's our home. It's way hot here, but surprisingly not as hot as we expected. I am loving my hair down here, it's huge!! I'm pretty sure I will start using endless amounts of hairspray. And my bangs? Those babies will be sprayed up & out. Oh yea.
Packing is quite the experience. There is something great about the ritual of it. And lovingly wrapping the things you adore, like these babies.
I could go on and on about the perils of moving, but all I can really think about was what I had for lunch I had today. I bought tons of small tomatoes at the farmers market a couple days ago that I couldn't wait to toss together with olive oil, sea salt & pepper. I toasted some bread, scooped on the tomatoes and topped with a light white cheese & a super thin layer of mayo. I sliced up a few radishes & topped with sea salt. Also had some of my mom's homemade potato salad. It was so simple and so delish. I think I will have the same thing tomorrow.
We went to a Sade concert a few nights before we left. That show was beyond my wildest dreams. She has been my fave since I was little. I can't believe I got the chance to see her. For my thirtieth bday, I think I am going to have a portrait of her tattooed on my upper left arm.

Girl, if you get that tattoo you had better post pics!! Ha! That lunch sounds amazing :-()~
Sirena!! I will definitely post pics, I laugh every time I think of myself as an old lady with a tattoo of Sade, ha!
Get the tattoo. Get it! And you are in Austin!! Exciting. It all sounds very perfect. I'd like bigger hair. That would be nice.
Oh- PS: I love the camera collection. Do they work? Or just for display? I've got various old cameras. Some of them work and some just sit on the shelf looking pretty. I like all of them.
Courtney! Austin is pretty awesome, I gotta say :) The cameras were my grandpa's, minus the holga. I haven't tried using any of them :) I did find an old roll of film in one of them, need to figure out how to get it developed! Oh! And I have been meaning to tell you, when you mentioned that you got a perm, my heart swooned! ha!
